List 4 - Word Families
Gap-fill exercise
This exercise tests your knowledge of word families. Complete the sentences by filling in the missing words, which are a form of the word given in capitals. Choose the correct word form according to the sentence. When you have filled all the gaps, then press "Check" to check your answers. Use the "Hint" button (at the bottom of the page) to get a free letter if an answer is giving you trouble. Remember to take great care with spelling as the computer will not recognise a word that is incorrectly spelled. You can use the link to the Cambridge On-line dictionary at the bottom of the page to check any words you are not sure of.
Here the first gap is done for you as an example: 1. The new rail link will increase ACCESSIBILITY to the town centre for those who live in the suburbs.
Note that you will lose points if you ask for hints!
